There were actual bed bugs in the bed when I woke up, obviously the worst factor in thier review. Dead flies smeared onto a window and mirror and not cleaned off. The top blanket was filthy with stains. A motel should be 75 bucks, the baseline should not be bedbugs and filth.

We checked into this motel around 2 AM after a very long drive from Northern California. The man behind the counter/window was very accommodating, the room was comfortable, the bed very welcoming to us. The bathroom was very small and the towels were acceptable. The only issue we had was that about every 30 minutes it seemed like, a train would pass by and there must have been a train track crossing because the trains sounded their horns as they went by! Had we not been so tired we probably would not have gotten any sleep.

We had our little dog with us. We were given a room with filthy carpet; the bedspreads were questionable as to the last time they were laundered; and to top it off, there was a very thick hair (beard?) in the tray that held the shampoo and conditioner packets. The linens were clean, and felt ok to sit on the sheets rather than on top of the bedspreads. The bathroom appeared to be clean (except for the beard hair); but the paper ring that was on the toilet seat lid that said “sanitized,” appeared to be worn/reused. The pillows were flattened. We were afraid to inspect the pillow inside the pillow case. The remote control’s cleanliness was questionable ?. $106 for this. Additionally, they advertise free cable—there was only one channel that worked (not a premium channel). We were shocked that being located in the heart of downtown Tehachapi that they couldn’t provide a cleaner room, at minimum.

We arrived quite late from touring further north. The Santa Fe is quite reasonably priced considering it is in California. The room was adequate and the décor acceptable. I have certainly seen much worse, in Kingman for example. The one staff on duty was very pleasant. Opposite across the main road is a first class German bakery, where we had breakfast.||I would suggest that people having problems sleeping need ear plugs. The all-night-long freight trains passing East-West and West-East continually sound their very strident horns as they cross every road junction in Tehachapi. Personally, I had no problem with this but the noise did interphere with my partner's sleep!||Overall, a good, little American motel.

The sign says weekly/4 day rates asked and got told the same exactly price as the daily rate. I had to stay here while my car was getting worked on, it was the most reasonable in town. Asked if I could check in an hour early because I was stranded outside in the rain and was told they’re still cleaning rooms.
There is WiFi, microwave, fridge and they allow pets ($5 per night). The shower is good and hot. The beds are dirty and uncomfortable. A few sketchy characters in and out. A leaking ceiling and paper thin walls let you hear the people and televisions in the rooms surrounding.

The rooms were a little run down but the staff was friendly. The rate was reasonable compared to the other hotels. Hey, it was a bed (a hard one) and a clean room. What can you say. Was in walking distance of the restaurant we ate at Jake's Steakhouse. Trains were a little loud but I think that's a given for Tehachapi.

Im a dirty PCT hiker, so my expectations from a room aren’t high. I can look past the cigarette burns in the sheets, the blood stains on the comforter, the discolored carpet, and the mildew in the shower. I truly can. But the customer service here soured me very badly. I got a room for a night and went to Walmart in the morning to get groceries. I came back at 1030 and the lady from the front desk (who already talked to me like I was trash the night before when I asked for the wifi password) was violently pounding on my door soon thereafter. “Check out was 10, leave right now!!” she demanded in an angry tone as she tugged violently on the door handle. It was like my mother was mad I was going to be late for school. I was planning on staying another night, so I told her as much. “Give me your credit card now” she ordered as I opened the door. I gave it to her. A few minutes later, I got an alert from my credit card about a charge that was $25 higher than the previous night’s stay. I asked her about it when she came back, and she said she was charging me a late checkout fee even though I was staying another night. She said the late fee was $15 until I confronted her with the charge notification, at which point she changed her story to $25. She arbitrarily chose an amount to take from me, assuming I wouldn’t know or wouldn’t confront her about it. Then she said the room is already discounted and she didn’t charge tax, acting as though her theft was a favor to me. In the end I decided to get a refund for the night and go back to the trail, where the vibes are better and no one is trying to game me for a few extra dollars. Don’t stay here
